Professional Asbestos Removal Services

In older buildings, asbestos has a high chance of being exposed due to disrepair or damages in the building structure and tiles. As a result, there is a high chance of occupants being exposed to asbestos fibres, which are all cancer-causing agents.

This is a severe problem and must be dealt with immediately, but professionally. Our experts at Ferro Environmental are fully equipped, trained and insured to remove asbestos from any part of your building. With us, you’ll have the benefit of having the removal done correctly from the start, thus bringing your building one step closer to being a healthy and livable space.

We Can Tackle Any Asbestos Removal Project

From simply removing non-friable asbestos containing material from floor tiles to removing asbestos from entire sections of your buildings, Ferro Environmental is ready for all jobs.

We’ve taken-on the following asbestos abatement work in Edmonton:

Type 1 Asbestos Removal Projects

Type 1 (1-10 square feet) projects typically involve removing non-friable asbestos containing material from floor, ceiling or bathroom tiles. Construction work includes breaking, drilling and other relatively minor tasks.

For Type 1, Ferro Environmental staff are provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as respiratory masks, goggles and disposable gloves and bodysuits. In addition, our staff utilize High Efficiency Particulate Air (HEPA) vacuuming machines and polyethylene bags for thorough cleaning and disposal at the worksite.

Type 2 Asbestos Removal Projects

Type 2 (10-100 square feet) asbestos removal jobs involve your building’s structure. Should we require extensive access to the walls, ceilings and/or piping, then your asbestos removal job will be a Type 2 operation. Under Type 2, we can also manage some friable asbestos materials.

The construction work includes breaking, cutting, drilling and sanding, all of which are needed to gain proper access to the areas where asbestos is contained.

Besides equipping our staff with PPE, HEPA vacuums and polyethylene bags, we’ll also raise some barriers and enclosures around Type 2 sites to prevent asbestos contamination and to ensure the safety of your tenants and those in the surrounding area.

Type 3 Asbestos Removal Projects

Type 3 (100 square-feet and more) asbestos abatement projects are generally the most difficult to undertake, but Ferro Environmental is fully equipped for it. If your asbestos removal operation requires demolishing a structure in your building, then it’ll fall under Type 3.

Construction tasks can range from drilling and breaking all the way through to demolishing. In addition, we’ll be required to fully enclose the worksite with barriers to prevent unauthorized access and to guarantee containment of the asbestos containing material.

Besides the use of PPE, HEPA and polyethylene bags, our workers will also require a proper decontamination site equipped with shower and containers.

Compliant with Asbestos Abatement Regulations and Standards

From Type 1 to Type 3 asbestos removal operations, Ferro Environmental strictly follows all federal and provincial regulations. For asbestos abatement in Edmonton, we abide by Alberta’s Occupational Health and Safety Code.
