First – don’t believe the hype; there has been much said about what you “should” look for and what you “want” to look for in an abatement contractor, “this” vs. “that”, union or open shop, large or small. Let’s face it – this is not regular contracting, if something goes wrong it has the potential to go REALLY wrong and innocent people can be put in harm’s way.
So I’ve taken the liberty of providing a checklist. Not a “theory”, not a “best practices” but an honest to goodness checklist – ask these questions – check the boxes and BINGO you have the ability to steer clear of hiring some less scrupulous and/or fly-by-night outfits and get yourself some peace of mind!
